About Wendy
Welcome to my web page. If you have found yourself here, maybe you’re investigating natural solutions to some health concerns you have been trying to resolve; or maybe you just feel your health and vitality could be better. With so much conflicting opinion out there, how do you sieve through all that information? Herbal Medicine could be your solution. Modern-day Herbal Medicine is researched-based, with a strong focus on quality control of Practitioner-only products. Often higher quality than standard retail products. The origins go back thousands of years and is the oldest form of organized health care on the planet. Whether it be Western, Chinese or Ayurvedic herbal medicine: 80% of the world’s population use herbal medicine in one way or form (latest estimates from WHO). With percentages rising yearly, this is a growing form of health care.
Consulting with clients since I graduated from the Waikato Centre for Herbal Medicine in 2007, I was employed at The Herbal Shop & Clinic in Hamilton, providing over the counter advice, with the last 10 years managing the store. This has given me experience working with many different ailments and exposure to a variety of medicinal herbs. Thus, giving me the time to specialize in the blending of herbal medicine; an art that cannot be learned solely from books but from experience.
Recently moving to Te Awamutu to start a new practice will give me more time to support your journey back to a healthier and stronger you.
While choosing not to specialize in any one area of health concerns, I have a particular passion for the digestive system and the balance of its precious ‘ecosystem’. Finding that most roads lead back to this area in one way or another, whether they be past or present.
Often I will quote – ‘Happy village – happy immune system – happy every-thing else’!
When your digestive system is functioning well, so is your immunity. Up to 80% of our immunity exists within our digestive system. Many chemicals we require to function are first created in our digestive system, and much, much more. Any ailment from, mood, liver, gall bladder, pancreas function, hormone regulation, pain, inflammation, metabolic issues, energy, and infections and much more often trackback to how our digestive system is functioning. Pain and bloating are not the only indicators of our digestive health!
